Premium Levels

Here are our health and dental insurance premium costs effective January 1, 2012.

Take note that four things affect your health insurance premium costs:

  1. Your PPO choice—The premium is lower for the Partnership PPO.
  2. The size and make up of your family—There are four premium levels:

         Note: If you enroll in dental insurance, you’ll choose from these four premium levels, too.

  1. Your geographic location—The network providers for both BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and CIGNA negotiate their costs for services in advance. And, on average, the lower-cost carrier for each region offers the best prices. So, premium costs depend on both your location and carrier:
  1. Your employing agency—Depending on whether you’re in the State Plan, the Local Education Plan or the Local Government Plan, you pay a portion or all of the premium for your health insurance.
